Harbor's Urgent Care Center is now a Walk-in Center for Harbor Patients. No Appointments Necessary!!!

Harbor Medical’s Urgent Care Center has moved, expanded, and is now a walk-in center, located at 541 Main St., South Weymouth, MA,  in Suite 414 on the fourth floor of the Stetson Medical Center (best accessed by the North Entrance by the elevator located next to the loading dock). The Urgent Care Center is under the direction of Dr. David Parker, formerly of our Pembroke Office.
The hours of operation are:
Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
 
This is a walk-in center for Harbor Medical patients, designed to provide walk in service for such illnesses as allergies, respiratory infections, sore throats, sports injuries, minor cuts and bruises, and other various illnesses requiring immediate medical care. Since no appointments are required, patients will experience shorter wait times. The Center provides healthcare for all ages, children are welcome, and radiology and laboratory services are available on-site.

Harbor Adds 2 new providers to our Family Practice Suite

Harbor Medical is pleased to welcome two new Board Certified Family Medicine Physicians  to our Family Practice Suite. 

 

Dr. Winfred del Mundo is a graduate of Guthrie Clinic/Robert Packer Hospital.

Dr. Sarah Sciascia is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia.

Eduardo Balcells, M.D., is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology and will be providing Cardiology consultations for patients on Mondays from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. at 795 Bridge St.  His primary location is at our 541 Main St. Office (Stetson Building) in South Weymouth.

Harbor adds a Third Pulmonologist to our Staff

 

 

Harbor Medical is pleased to announce that Dr. Adam Smith has joined Dr. Richard Ashburn and Dr. Matthew Weiss in providing our patients with their Pulmonary needs.  Dr. Smith attended The New York University School of Medicine, and completed his residency at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Manhattan, NY.  He is Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Internal Medicine.  Dr. Smith is located at our 541 Main St., South Weymouth, MA location in Suite 400, and can be reached by calling 781-952-1240.

Managing Your Blood Pressure

People who have high blood pressure that's 140/90 mm Hg or higher are often prescribed medications to help them get their numbers down. Team up with your Health Care Provider to set a goal that is within the nationally recognized guidelines or is less than 140/90 to 120/80 mm Hg or below. Novartis Pharmaceuticals is assisting Harbor Medical Associates with managing our patients with high blood pressure by offering a program called the BP Success Zone.
The BP Success Zone will assist patients’ to learn about their blood pressure medication, get tips on eating healthier, understand the role of lifestyle changes and see the importance of setting a blood pressure goal with your Health Care Provider. HARBOR'S HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY SERVICES MOVE TO NEW CANCER CENTER

On October 5, 2009, Harbor Medical Associates' Hematology/Oncology Department will move and join the new Dana Farber/Brigham & Women's Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Hospital.  Rolf Freter, M.D., PhD., Harbor Medical's Chief of Hematology/Oncology, along with Lisa Manera, M.D., and Meredith Faggen, M.D., will provide hematology/oncology services at the Cancer Center under the medical direction of Dr. Freter.
